We understand that plans can change. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled project start time will be charged 50% of the project total. Cancellations made more than 48 hours in advance will not incur a cancellation fee. We appreciate your understanding, as project dates are reserved specifically for you and often require advance planning and preparation.
what is your cancellation policy?
For the safety of our team, The Home Refinery does not move, transport, or haul large, oversized, or specialty items, including:
Large TVs, couches, sectionals, and sleeper sofas, mattresses and box springs, large dressers, armoires, and entertainment centers, dining tables and other large furniture, appliances such as refrigerators, washers, dryers, and ovens, pianos, safes, and other extremely heavy items, exercise equipment or large gym equipment, construction materials or renovation debris, hazardous materials, chemicals, paint, or flammable items, large quantities of trash or junk requiring professional removal.
We’re happy to help sort, organize, and prepare these items for removal and can recommend a professional moving, junk removal, or donation pickup service be arranged when needed.

how do i get started?
Yes. Maintenance sessions are a great option for seasonal resets, growing families, changing routines, or spaces that simply need a refresh. They can help prevent clutter from becoming overwhelming again. Pricing is available under Services.
Can you help maintain an already organized home?
Donation items can be sorted and prepared so they are ready to leave your home. Donation drop-off or removal services may also be available depending on the project and location.
What happens to the items I decide to donate?
No. Whenever possible, we're happy to reuse items you already own. New products are only recommended when they will genuinely improve the function, appearance, or longevity of your organizing system.
Do I need to purchase all-new containers?
Organizing products are typically separate from the service fee. We can recommend and source containers, baskets, drawer organizers, labels, and other products that complement your space and budget. All purchases will be discussed and approved beforehand.
Are organizing products included in the price?
Project length depends on the size of the space, the amount of sorting involved, and how quickly decisions are made. A smaller area may take one session, while larger spaces or whole-home projects may require several sessions. A more accurate estimate can be provided after learning about your space.
How long will my project take?
Your involvement depends on the project. You may need to be available during the decluttering stage to make decisions about your belongings. Once those decisions are made, we can often complete much of the organizing and styling independently.
Never. You are always in control of what stays and what goes. We’ll guide you through the decision-making process, but the goal is not to pressure you into getting rid of everything. It’s to help you create a home that feels manageable and meaningful to you.
Do I need to be home during the project?
Will you make me get rid of my belongings?
Not at all. Please leave the space as it normally is. Seeing how you currently use it helps me understand what is working, what is not, and which systems will be most practical for your everyday life.

From there, we create a thoughtful plan for decluttering, organizing, and improving the way your space functions. Organizing products and finishing touches are selected based on your needs, style, and budget.
